Andrew Judson

Mr. Judson has been engaged in equity capital markets and the energy industry for nearly twenty five years.  He is currently a Director and Advisor to Daytona Power Corp., a company developing Advanced Transmission Power projects in the US, including large scale Pumped Hydro Storage projects.  He is also a Director of Pieridae Energy, developing a two train 10mm tpa LNG export terminal in Nova Scotia, Canada. Previously Andrew was a Managing Director of Camcor Partners Inc, a private equity investment manager focused on western Canadian upstream energy companies on behalf of Canadian and US institutional investors.   Prior thereto, Andrew was Managing Director, Institutional Sales, for FirstEnergy Capital Corp, a leading independent investment bank focused on the energy industry.

Andrew holds a BA and an MBA from the University of Calgary.  His community involvement includes directorships with Winsport, operating Alberta's legacy Olympic facilities and The Fraser Institute, Canada's leading free markets focused think tank.  Andrew, Suzy and their three daughters are lifelong Calgarians.


Barry Heck

Mr. Heck’s professional career is focused on the formation, management and growth of a wide range of businesses, technologies and organizations. He  has been involved in numerous corporate initiatives, from start-ups to large public corporations.  He has an extensive range of experience in such areas as corporate formation and structuring, private and public finance, venture capital finance and investing, private equity transactions, executive leadership, operations, M&A transactions, technology start-ups and commercialization, strategic reviews, business planning and restructurings.

Barry is currently the President, Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Directors of WinSport (Calgary Olympic Development Association)  a winter sport institute providing world-class programs and facilities.  WinSport owns and operates Canada Olympic Park and is preserving and growing the legacy of the 1988 Winter Olympics. Barry is also the President and Principal Partner of EL Merchant Capital, a private merchant capital and corporate finance and advisory firm.. 

Barry has extensive board and corporate governance and compliance experience covering a diverse range of industries and organizations; both as an advisor to numerous corporate boards and as a board member.  He is currently Vice Chairman of Alberta Enterprise Corporation, an Alberta Crown Corporation that is investing $175 Million as a venture capital fund-of-funds manager to help diversify Alberta’s economy and develop Alberta’s venture capital industry. He was appointed Chair of the former Alberta Economic Development Authority (AEDA) in January, 2013.  AEDA was formed in 1994 and operated until 2015 as the province’s preeminent organization mandated to provide advice to government and work collaboratively in developing recommendations regarding economic development policy and strategies for Alberta.

Barry spent a decade at The Westaim Corporation, including serving as President and Chief Executive Officer, as a member of the Board of Directors and as Chairman of the Board of various Westaim related companies.    Prior to joining Westaim, he practiced business and securities law from 1985 to 1996.


Donald Bell

Mr. Bell co-founded WestJet Airlines in 1995 and played a key role in its quick growth to become Canada’s second largest airline. As a retired Executive Vice President, Customer  Service, his vision, ideas, and  leadership were instrumental in creating a powerful culture based on employee engagement and empowerment. Don also held the roles of Co-Chief Operating Officer and Airline Transport rated Boeing 737 Captain. Prior to WestJet, Don spent 18 years as President and owner of a Calgary-based full-service Information Technology firm that developed, installed, and supported specialized software systems for enterprises.

He has completed the Institute of Corporate Directors Designation, which represents a lifelong commitment to excellence in the boardroom. Don is Lead Director of Cervus Equipment Corporation and sits on a number of non-profit and small business boards and boards of advisors. He now keeps busy as partner in three active businesses involved in software, aviation, and property development. A third generation Albertan, Don enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, is an avid skier, cyclist, and a fledgling helicopter pilot.


Douglas Gray

Mr. Gray is the founder and former president and CEO of Graycon Group (GRAYCON IT), a national IT services, outsourcing and projects company. Graycon was recognized as one of Canada’s Best Managed Private Companies and a Best Employer for several years over its 29 year journey. Doug took Graycon public during the DotCom boom’s waning days of 2001, re-privatized Graycon again in 2004, did several acquisitions along the way and then sold Graycon to Ricoh in 2015. Doug now (via NOM Investments), consults, volunteers, mentors, travels and dabbles in areas of interest, passion and karma.


JP Veitch

Mr. Veitch is an independent businessman and corporate director with over 25 years in the financial industry as a Managing Director of Institutional Equity Sales at both regional and multinational investment banks. Most recently Mr. Veitch was Advisor to the CEO at an energy services company. Mr. Veitch is a strong supporter of charitable causes and was awarded the Alberta Commemorative Lieutenant Governor Community Service Medal in 2005 and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012.  JP is a proud Albertan and a bullriding champion having competed in rodeo for over 20 years and served as a colour commentator for the Calgary Stampede.  When not working, JP enjoys hiking and skiing in the mountains with his spouse, Hon. Rona Ambrose, and three kids.
